By Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center (PASBDC)

Aug 24, 2020

KUTZTOWN, Pa. — Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center (PASBDC) in conjunction with Dr. Christine (CJ) Rhoads, M.Ed., D.Ed., Curriculum Specialist for COVID-19 Impacted Businesses, have created 24 free online educational modules to assist PASBDC clients and their employees in reopening safely. Dan Chen See, a student intern from Kutztown University and Carolina Moctezuma, assistant professor from the modern language department were also instrumental in the module development. The modules are published on the PASBDC website.

“The PASBDC is happy that we can offer these online learning modules in both English and Spanish. These modules are based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state health department guidelines for reopening as of June 2020. These free modules are designed to help our busy small business owners obtain the critical information that they need to be aware of in planning to mitigate their risk for employees and customers,” said Ernie Post, Pennsylvania SBDC Director.

The modules aim to teach business owners how to: prevent and reduce transmission among employees, maintain healthy business operations, and maintain a healthy work environment. There are also supplemental industry-specific modules for the top industry served by the network.

“The first three modules are full of educational courses with activities and quizzes. They give you a “badge” at the end if you do well. The remaining modules are shorter, with just the supplemental information needed for different industries. All of them will be helpful to business leaders and managers as they work towards ensuring their customers and employees stay safe and healthy,” said Dr. Rhoads. “Our goal was to bring information together from many sources so that the participants didn’t need to go searching out the information from the large variety of information about COVID-19.”
