Berks County is fortunate to have five significant institutions of higher education: Albright College, Alvernia University, Kutztown University, Penn State Berks Campus, and Reading Area Community College. The schools provide educational programming for nearly 22,000 students.
But beyond the impact that they have on these students, each of the colleges have an impact on the communities in which they are location. As anchors in their community, all five schools have a vested interest in helping to form a healthy, vibrant community. And each has been intentional about this mission.
