The LGBT Center of Greater Reading and Olivet Boys & Girls Club are pleased to announce a partnership to engage youth and families in the local area through a series of community movie nights. As the majority of youth in the local area are primarily in a virtual learning environment with minimal social interaction, these events will serve as an opportunity for youth to participate in a fun experience while maintaining social distancing and safety guidelines. Furthermore, this partnership will allow education of a wider audience on resources and support offered by both organizations. Dates and locations for the movie series are as follows:

 Kenhorst Community Center-October 2nd -7 pm

Olivet Boys & Girls Club-Pendora Unit-October 16th

Olivet Blue Mountain Camp – October 30th (Teens Only)

Olivet Boys & Girls Club-PAL Unit-November 6th

Olivet Boys & Girls Club-Clinton Unit-November 20th

This partnership between the LGBT Center of Greater Reading and Olivet will also include a special Halloween event on October 30th to specifically target the teen population which will be held at the Olivet’s Blue Mountain Camp location in Hamburg. The event will be open to all teens in the local area with the support of additional local, community partners such as Bethany Children’s Home and Berks Teens Matter.

“Olivet Boys & Girls Club is thrilled for the opportunity to partner with the LGBT Center to provide safe and secure positive events for the youth of our community. We are grateful for the resources and value that the LGBT Center brings to youth in the community and are excited to serve and engage a wider audience of youth with these fall movie nights at our Clubs.” Chris Winters, President and CEO, Olivet Boys & Girls Club

“The LGBT Center is excited to partner with The Olivet Boys & Girls Club for this series of community movie nights. Together, are seeking solutions, developing new methods and adapting our model in serving our youth during these unprecedented times. We will continue to build relationships and bridges, doing whatever it takes, to ensure the wellbeing of our youth and our community.” Michelle Dech, Executive Director, LGBT Center of Greater Reading
