Kutztown University Offers Graduate-Level Criminal Justice Concentration in Master of Public Administration Degree

KUTZTOWN, PA – From violent crime to public order offenses, the Master of Public Administration with a concentration in criminal justice at Kutztown University focuses on applied problem-solving skills. Through course work and an emphasis on student research, students receive specialized knowledge and technical skills in budgeting, planning, personnel administration, legal issues in criminal justice, police strategies and social policymaking.

The graduate-level criminal justice curriculum has a practical focus that will develop applied administrative and analytical knowledge necessary for career advancement. The program is taught by full-time faculty who are renowned experts in their field and provides students with essential skills in human resource management, public budgeting, legal issues in criminal justice and policymaking. Course scheduling is flexible and accommodates the needs of those currently working full time.

Offered as a collaborative program between KU’s Department of Political Science and Public Administration and Department of Criminal Justice, the Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in criminal justice is designed to accommodate working professionals as well as recent graduates.

The program consists of 36 semester hours, conveniently-blended classes and evening classes, flexible options for full- and part-time students, is designed for working professionals with fall, spring and summer session courses. Students typically complete the degree within four semesters. Students also have the option to complete research through a thesis or capstone project in a professional seminar. Courses are offered in face-to-face and blended (face-to-face plus digital) instruction.

Admission requirements include application, resume, official transcripts from all previous colleges or universities, three letters of recommendation, GRE/GMAT/MAT/LSAT score report or five or more years of professional and/or managerial experience in a government agency or nonprofit organization.
