Increased Traffic expected at Berks County Ag Center Oct. 24-25 due to Hazardous Waste Collection

Reading, PA — The County of Berks expects increased traffic at the Berks County Agriculture Center, 1238 County Welfare Road, on Oct. 24-25 due to the 2020 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program. The waste collection will be from 8 AM to 2 PM both days, so residents planning to return their mail-in ballots at the Berks County Agriculture Center drop box on Saturday from 8 AM to Noon should be prepared for additional traffic. The drop box at the Berks County Services Center will also be open from 8 AM to Noon on Saturday, Oct. 24. The Services Center drop box is located in the lobby off of the Reed Street entrance.

The household hazardous waste recycling event is sponsored by the Berks County Solid Waste Authority and was planned several months ago for this weekend. The event is free for all Berks County residents, but pre-registration is required. Residents dropping off waste are asked to come alone to the event, wear a mask and stay in their vehicle at all times. All waste must be in the trunk of a car or the bed of a truck. Bern Township police will be on site to help direct traffic throughout the event.
