Reading Parking Authority announces comprehensive strategic plan

Reading, PA—The Reading Parking Authority shared its new five-year strategic plan. The plan includes five focus areas: finance, public policy, operations, economic development, and human resource development. Each focal area is then further defined with specific priorities and action items. The Reading Parking Authority board voted on October 27th regarding adoption of the strategic plan for the Authority through 2023.

“This plan is a comprehensive vision that will guide Reading Parking Authority toward financial stability,” said Board Chairperson Frank Denbowski. “It also positions RPA to be a key collaborator in the City’s economic development.”

This new strategic plan also includes initiatives to help alleviate residential parking problems throughout the city. Reading Parking Authority will soon be announcing an innovative plan that will provide relief to parkers in residential neighborhoods where parking is stressed due to population density.

“This is a bold and ambitious plan that will take a lot of focus and dedication from our team,” said Nathan Matz, Reading Parking Authority Executive Director. “While RPA has traditionally focused its efforts in downtown Reading, the goal of this new project is to improve the parking experience throughout the city.”
