Starting a New Business in The Middle of a Pandemic

By Finch + Fern Rekindled Home

Nov 03, 2020

Taking a leap of faith and being moved by a dream, three friends opened up a Home Decor Boutique and Pantry called Finch + Fern Rekindled Home in the middle of a global pandemic. Located at 728 Penn Avenue, West Reading.

“We loved the space and just knew it was meant to be.” says Louise Pena- Candelaria, a Realtor, and Artist who resides in Wyomissing.

“The windows and the parquet floor are what wowed me. All it needed was some paint and cleaning up.” Says Kristan Milner-Callan, an Art Degree Major, who specializes in revitalizing vintage furniture and visual displays.

“We wanted to be our own boss and we just ran with it. Location is everything.” Says Mechelle Bush, General Manager at Encrypted Escape in West Reading, and third partner and Artist at Finch + Fern.

The three women took their strengths and together created a very hip and energetic space filled with plants, repurposed furniture, handmade jewelry, pantry items, unique gifts and home decor. Finch + Fern channels a modern bohemian vibe, perfectly blending the old with the new.
