One Love Project Receives Nominations of Families in Need, Hands Out Thanksgiving Meals

On Tuesday 11/24, One Love Project came together to pack up 10 Thanksgiving meals to be distributed to families in need within the Berks County area and beyond. This idea came about a few months ago when members, Jaime Baez and Chelsea Cappellano, of One Love Project wanted to do more for the community, specifically around the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thanks to a generous, anonymous donor, funds were provided to purchase 10 Thanksgiving meals. These meals included a Turkey, Stuffing, Potatoes, Rice, Cranberry Sauce, Vegetables, Bread (generously donated by: ATV Bakery), and of course dessert.

“I can’t think of a better way to kick off the giving season than by helping local families in need.” stated Chelsea Cappellano.

Families were identified through local groups, such as Salvation Army, as well as nominations from the public. All 10 meals were deployed and dropped off on doorsteps last evening.

Jaime Baez stated “My overall experience during this process has been humbling. If I had the opportunity to do this again, I absolutely would.”

And, One Love Project is doing just that. Their next event is a Holiday Food Drive, planned for December 19th at The Gables at Stirling Guest Hotel from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
