The Berks Agricultural Resource Network (B.A.R.N.) is a non-profit organization formed in 2008 to serve the Berks County Agricultural and related food industries and rural communities with the Vision to cultivate opportunities for farmers, businesses, and consumers to grow everyone’s prosperity, and the Mission to
Collaborate, celebrate, and educate to strengthen agriculture in Berks County and Southeastern PA.
B.A.R.N. created the Holiday Food & Gift Guide to remind Berks Countians of how many unique and delicious options there are right in their own back yard to fill their table and give the gift of local food this Holiday Season. Designating a portion of your Holiday budget to local businesses is a win-win for everyone. Choosing to spend money close to home not only keeps local farmers and small ag-related businesses going, it has a positive impact on our community by helping to rebuild and revive our local economy.
B.A.R.N. wants to continue to raise awareness about the diversity and accessibility of Berks farmers and producers – here they are – reach out, visit, and get to know them!
Encouraging people to get a little creative and think outside the big-box retailers, there is something for everyone on your list whether you build your own super-personalized basket full of local goodies, gift a CSA, meat or cheese membership box, or if you can’t decide, gift cards and gift certificates are always the right size!
Now more than ever, the Agricultural Sector plays a critical and essential role in our community and economy. Be part of the movement. Support your local farms!
