We are pleased to announce that East Penn has been honored as one of the 2020 Best Places to Work in PA. The distinction is only awarded to 100 companies throughout the entire state. East Penn is one of only three companies named to the list 19 times since its conception in 2000.

The Best Places to Work in PA was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania. Companies named to the prestigious list benefit the state’s economy, workforce and businesses. It represents a joint effort of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the PA Department of Community & Economic Development, the PA Chamber of Business & Industry, and the Central Penn Business Journal.

The companies on this year’s list consisted of 43 small, 30 medium, and 27 large size companies. East Penn is one of the few manufacturers on the list, ranking 26th in the large company category. One thing all these companies have in common is that they are innovative workplaces with creative leadership, which has been vital during the fight against COVID-19.

“It’s hard to find the right words that express the extent of our appreciation for receiving this recognition for nineteen years. However, I would have to say that this year is probably one of the most significant. To be recognized as a Best Place to Work during a pandemic is a real tribute and honor. I can’t thank our employees enough for how they continue to contribute to the longevity and success of our company and its customers,” said Chris Pruitt, East Penn CEO and President.

For the selection process, the Best Companies Group used a formula similar to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for in America.” Each company directly supplied information, and a randomly selected group of employees from each business completed a confidential survey. The survey is used to evaluate the employees’ work place experience in regards to their individual, team, and organizational experiences. The overall registration and survey process accounted for 75% of the total evaluation score.

“While our format has changed, the innovation and dedication of these companies in creating outstanding workplaces continue to inspire us as we celebrate the 100 best companies in Pennsylvania in partnership with Central Penn Business Journal and the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development,” said Ryan C. Unger, President and CEO of Team Pennsylvania
