Mayor Eddie Morán Extends Preventative Measures at City Hall

Dec 30, 2020

Reading, PA: Tuesday afternoon, City of Reading Mayor Eddie Morán issued the following statement:

“As we wind down the holiday season, I hope that everyone finds themselves in good health and can safely enjoy quality time with their family. Given the number of infections that continue to climb in Berks County and Reading, I am extending the closure of City Hall for two more weeks until Tuesday, January 19th.

All City Hall employees, with the exception of those in emergency services, will be expected to work from home during this time as the essential services of the City will continue to be provided.

I continue to emphasize that this is not time off and that employees are expected to perform their duties and provide City services to the best of their abilities while maintaining directives from their supervisors.

On behalf of my entire administration, I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful New Year with a special emphasis on staying safe and healthy. While this pandemic has impacted all of us in unimaginable ways, we certainly have lots to look forward to: together.

Lastly, remember: we are each other’s neighbors!”
