Fegley Publishes Book on Old Order German Sects

Dr. Randall Fegley has recently published a book titled Reflections on Old Order German Sects in Berks County: Past, Present and Future through Masthof Press and Bookstore. In addition to Fegley, the book is edited by Penn State Berks alumnus Owen Reitenauer ’12 and Zachary Stoltzfus.

Almost a decade in the making, this collection of essays was written by seven students from Penn State Berks and six members of Pennsylvania German communities. Combining solid research and personal reflection, it traces the historical and cultural development of Anabaptist, Moravian and Pietist sects and current issues facing them.

Penn State Berks alumni writers include Collin Hass, ’12, Samantha Kerling ’12, Michal Komemi ’13, Owen Reitenauer ’12, Jennifer Screvane ’11, Michael Siaway ’13, and Erin Wade ’15. Community contributors include the Reverend Calvin Kurtz, Paul Kurtz, the Reverend Ron Rice, and Sam Stoltzfus.

Dr. Fegley is an Associate Professor of History and Political Science at Penn State Berks. A political historian, he teaches courses in African, European and Middle Eastern history, ethnic conflict in Africa and international law. For more information, contact Fegley at [email protected].
