Heating System provided to a Deserving Family through Comfort Pro Cares Event

Comfort Pro, Inc. has expanded their 10th Annual Comfort Pro Cares Event in 2020 to 2021 by providing another FREE Lennox Heating and Air Conditioning system to the Lovera family of Reading. On December 16th the Comfort Pro team installed a new Lennox Heating system for Martina Figueroa of Reading, but there was another nomination that moved the Comfort Pro management so greatly and they knew they needed to help with another free system through the 10th Annual Comfort Pro Cares Event!

The panel received two nominations from retired SSGT Jake Lovera (USMC) to help he, his wife, Michele, and his daughter, Isabella.

Lovera, a now disabled veteran, served in the Marines for more than 20 years. During his service, he fought in four wars and over 1000 missions.

“I was lucky to make it through Desert Storm, Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq, and other mission locations. And over time I had been shot seven times with the bullet fragments still in me plus bomb shrapnel and over the years of metal and plastic and more had embedded themselves throughout my body but mostly from my knees down. That’s where the explosive would hit, our lower parts when we would hide behind a Hummer etc. most of the flying debris can bounce and find its way to you! Each one was like a bee sting and some I pulled out myself. But after I retired it became an issue of infections and finally it was so bad they had to take my lower right leg and rebuild my left leg. So now I am basically handicapped to the point that I have to walk on my hands and knees to get around,” said Jake Lovera, 2020 10th Annual Comfort Pro Cares Event second recipient in his nomination letter.

With Lovera’s medical problems, he has many medical expenses that have accumulated and finding employment has been near impossible since retiring from the military. But the Loveras saved for more than 20 years to purchase a home to raise their daughter. The majority of the home they purchased was rehabbed, but it still has the original heating and air conditioning system which is in dire need of repair.

“We have applied for all of what is available through the military with help with items like this and free homes etc. but I am in most cases 5000+ in line waiting. With numbers like that 87% on these lists will never receive help. I have never had any organization offer to help us or any individual. I appreciate the thanks for your service but when you are back home and in reality those thanks do not pay the bills or put food on the table. This disabled veteran who truly needs help can’t thank Comfort Pro enough for being the first company or organization to help my family,” said Lovera in his nomination letter.

Doug Weisman, Comfort Pro CEO, said, “we were first moved reading the letters highlighting Jake’s more than 20 years of service to our country and his medical conditions due to his service. After meeting the Lovera family, we could not sleep at night and we knew we needed to expand the 10th Annual Comfort Proc Cares event to a second recipient and help Jake,

Michele and Isabella as well with the gift of a new heating and air conditioning system. It is our honor to give back to Jake and his family.”

“On January 18th, the Comfort Pro team will be replacing their system with a Lennox ML 180DF Gas Furnace, a 13ACX Condenser and a programmable Nest Thermostat,” said Robert Newpher, Comfort Pro sales manager.
