PASR Donates $43,490 to Feeding Pennsylvania

During the month of February 2021, members of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) made donations in excess of $40,000 to Feeding Pennsylvania to support its member food banks as they continue to face increased demand as a result of COVID-19. These donations will be distributed amongst Feeding PA’s nine-member food banks which serve all 67 counties across the commonwealth. This is only one of many community service initiatives that PASR and its chapter associations from across PA have engaged in to help support the communities of Pennsylvania.

Feeding Pennsylvania’s food banks have seen an alarming rise in demand for their services since the start of the pandemic. Feeding Pennsylvania will continue to rely upon the generosity of donors, like the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, to support the crisis response across the state.

Additionally, PASR members and local chapters have donated tens of thousands of dollars directly to their local food banks and to school “pack a backpack” efforts that aim to provide nutritious meals to students when they are not in school. PASR chapters complete such campaigns this year and every year as part of their efforts to engage in community service to help improve their communities.

About Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR):

Founded in 1937, PASR is the only organization in PA that advocates exclusively for all who have retired from the public schools of PA. PASR provides discounts to members—who do not have to be retired school employees, as anyone can become a member—on various products and services including dental, vision, and auto insurance. PASR also engages in a variety of community service campaigns and provides support for local educational efforts, and provides opportunities for social engagement and discounted travel experiences. More information about PASR and its local chapters can be found at www.pasr.org.
