Wyomissing Public Library Offering Program on Berks County Women

The Wyomissing Public Library will continue its recognition of Womens History Month on Friday, March 19th at 6 PM. Local historians Michelle Lynch, Corrie Crupi and Richard Polityka will present a virtual program focusing on Berks County women who were entrpreneurs, politicians and entertainers in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Among the women whose stories will be told are Pearl Haines, Katie Witman, Dutch Mary and Lilith Wilson, the first woman elected to the Pennsylvania Legislature from Berks County.

The program, which be held via Zoom, is free and open to the public. Registration is required, and may be done by email to [email protected], or by calling the library at 610-374-2385.
