While shoppers wish Lyn and Beth Camella-Rich a long and happy retirement, they knew they would miss Dancing Tree Creations Artisans Gallery & Studio when owners Lyn and Beth closed the doors for the final time on February 14, 2021.
The popular and successful business that the couple had built over 10 years into a popular and successful outlet for fine crafts had become a multi-county destination for “uncommon” jewelry, gifts, apparel, and décor. The recent sale of the property meant that the remaining inventory from nationally-known artisans would need a new home.
Enter award-winning and internationally-recognized designer Scott Rothenberger, owner of PLACE Design Studio and Showroom, located at 1780 Rt. 100, Bally, PA.
Rothenberger’s PLACE now features several dozen artists and their fine craft items in eye-catching arrangements that previously were available at Dancing Tree Creations.
For more than 30 years, Rothenberger has been designing award-winning landscapes, interiors, and events. The PLACE Design Studio and showroom provides a relaxed opportunity to enjoy a “sip” of wine and learn more about his work, shop for designer finds for home or business, and get to know what he affectionately refers to as “Team PLACE.”
“Honesty, I just want to help,” said Rothenberger. “What makes a great community is when small businesses come together to help each other to provide the best environment for the residents,” he continued.
“Beth and Lyn of Dancing Tree are longtime friends and clients; in fact, we did the outdoor design and installation when they opened their gallery years ago. When I heard about their retirement, I saw a chance to create a ‘Win-Win-Win’ by purchasing pieces from their remaining inventory to add to our inventory at the PLACE Design Studio and showroom. The Win for their Gallery became a Win for our Showroom, but most importantly a Win for the community giving their fans a PLACE to continue to purchase the unique art formerly found at their gorgeous gallery,” Rothenberger noted.
“While I’m a native of Boyertown, we consider that our ‘community’ encompasses a much wider area. PLACE provides Interior Design and Landscape Design and Building services from Boyertown to the Lehigh Valley, the Main Line of Philadelphia and to South Carolina and Florida, stretching west to Arizona. Dancing Tree Creations offered high-end craft to our area from over 200 nationally-recognized artisans, and I wanted our community to have access to art of that style and quality” he added.
“Our showroom features indoor/outdoor furniture, art, and accessories, succulent arrangements, seasonal planters and unique gifts for everyone on your list. We feature pottery and glass from local artists as well as grab-and-go natural holiday decor. We host events in our showroom including restaurant nights, birthday parties, baby showers, charity events and more. Also, we often feature design-related classes with wine and cheese served. We are open Saturdays and Sundays 9-3 or by appointment. Stop in often as our inventory changes with the seasons,” he concluded.
Featured art and artisans include Cy Turnbladh and Karon Ohm, Hands on Studios; Funky Rock Designs; Forest Series, Steven Main, glassblower; Jeff Margolin’s etched carvings; Sabra Richards, kiln-formed glass; glass artist My Wildest Dreams; Barbara Woods’ printed silk and ceramic lamps; Don McMahon’s “Birds on Things”; Sea Stones; Tom Philabaum;’s hand-blown glass; Josh McElroy’s wood sculptures; Sea Stories Cattail Sculptures.
