Reviews:

‘Houck paints what he sees but tempers it with an innovative, thinking point of view. And it would appear sometimes that beauty is fleeting; it has to find you instead. In his search for the contemporary landscape, he seeks out those moments of beauty with a sharp eye….’ Review by Ron Schira, Oct. 2006, Reading Eagle Correspondent on the ‘Spring and Autumn Series’ Fromm Gallery, Jewish Community Center of Reading.

‘His work has a pleasing and unsettling play between recognizable patterns and flat abstracted shapes, and raises immediate questions about space and depth. Looking at them, I was reminded of looking into a puddle underneath a large tree, and reveling in the initial confusion of where the reflection began, and the puddle stopped, and vice-versa.’ P. Timothy Gierschick II, January 03, 2006
