Winners of 39th Annual Secondary Art Exhibit Announced

The 39th Annual Secondary Art Exhibit features the talents of Berks County artists in grades nine to twelve. All of the artwork in this year’s show is currently on display in a virtual gallery on the Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) website and the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts website. The virtual gallery features nearly 1,100 works of art from more than 550 student artists across Berks County. The gallery can be viewed at: https://www.berksiu.org/2021-secondary-art-show/.

For the 2021 Secondary Art Exhibit, 90 awards were handed out to talented artists from across the county. These include awards in 16 judging categories, along with the Reading-Berks Guild of Craftsmen Stanley G. Seltz Awards, the Berks Arts Award, and the Berks County Intermediate Unit Permanent Collection Award. The winners will have their pieces displayed at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts from April 30, 2021, through May 20, 2021.

The participating school districts and schools include Antietam School District, Berks Career & Technology Center – West, Berks Catholic High School, Boyertown Area School District, Brandywine Heights Area School District, Conrad Weiser Area School District, Daniel Boone Area School District, Exeter Township School District, Fleetwood Area School District, Governor Mifflin School District, Hamburg Area School District, The King’s Academy, Kutztown Area School District, Muhlenberg School District, Oley Valley School District, Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology Center, Schuylkill Valley School District, Tulpehocken Area School District, Wilson School District, and Wyomissing Area School District.

The 39th Annual Secondary Art Exhibit is a collaboration between the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, the Reading-Berks Guild of Craftsmen, Berks Arts, and the Berks County Intermediate Unit.
