Healthy Champions Program Enrolling for the 21-22 School Year

by Penn State Extension

May 11, 2021

Penn State Extension is excited to partner with Penn State PRO Wellness to promote wellness in youth and their families.

Penn State PRO Wellness is a non-profit organization that is committed to educating and inspiring youth and their families to eat well, engage in regular physical activity, and become champions for bringing healthy choices to life.

Currently, Penn State PRO Wellness is accepting enrollments into their Healthy Champions program. Health Champions is a free school program that provides educational materials to schools that help teach youth and their families to make healthy choices. Their resources assist school health leaders with fostering an environment that supports children’s health and wellbeing. Schools receive an All-Star kit at the beginning of the school year with posters, resources, and decals to use throughout the year in support of wellness and signature events (Walk to School, Apple Crunch, Go for the Green, and Move It Outside). Schools complete an assessment around their physical, nutritional, and mental health and are given a star rating. Once they receive their rating, PRO Wellness provides information on how they can improve their rating over the year or help create new, fun ways to keep their rating up.

For more information on the program, download the informational flier or visit their website. Registration for the 2021-2022 school year closes on June 30, 2021.
