The Berks Cares Vaccine Center is happy to announce that we are now accepting appointments for patients 12 and up to receive the Pfizer vaccine during extended hours next week. The Berks Cares Vaccine Center is dedicated to helping all residents access the COVID-19 vaccine and is committed to evolving our services to continue to meet the community’s needs.

Earlier this week, we announced that the Berks Cares Vaccine Center would be offering the Pfizer vaccine from May 19 to 22 during extended hours that include early morning, evening and Saturday appointments. Those appointments are also now available to 12-to 15-year-olds following the recent recommendation from the CDC.

The Berks Cares Vaccine Center is also able to accept walk-in appointments tomorrow, Friday, May 14 for the Moderna vaccine between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The Center will also be offering limited appointments for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on Wednesday, May 19, with the ability to expand this offering based on demand.

The current schedule is as follows:

  • Friday, May 14: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Moderna) Walk-ins accepted until 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday May 19: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Pfizer); 8:30 – 10 a.m. (Johnson & Johnson)
  • Thursday, May 20: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Pfizer)
  • Friday, May 21: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Pfizer)
  • Saturday, May 22: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Pfizer)

Residents can sign up for appointments at www.doyourpartberks.com/vaccinecenter or by calling 1-888-712-2772. Appointments for the week of May 24 will be added next Tuesday.

The Berks Cares Vaccine Center is a public health collaborative with the Berks Community Health Center and other community partners to set up a community vaccination center. Other community partners include Co-County Wellness Services, BARTA, Berks County Public Libraries, Berks County Area Agency on Aging, Berks County Department of Emergency Services and the County of Berks.

The Center is located in the North Reading Plaza, 5370 Allentown Pike in Muhlenberg Township, right beside the Temple Walmart. Free transportation to the Vaccine Center is available through BARTA’s fixed and shared ride service.
