by Berks County Earth Day Committee

Earth & Environment

Environmentalism means more than just recycling and addressing pollution. Making strides to be cleaner and greener is an action which everyone can do to make a difference.  This past year has given us a different perspective. During this pandemic, we are realizing more and more that actively taking care of our surroundings and each other is a way of life that is beneficial now and for future generations.

Please join us at the 51st anniversary of the First Earth Day. Last year was the 50th anniversary of the First Earth Day, but due to Covid19, we delayed our celebration to 2021.

LOCATION: Reading’s City Park, 11th & Washington St.

DATE: Sunday June 13th 11am to 5pm

Our event is rain or shine, and will feature:

  1. Environmental groups
  2. Speakers on sustainability issues
  3. Presentations on wild animals including some winged visitors to our event!
  4. A range of local musical talents
  5. Local artists and poets
  6. Local food vendors
  7. We are working on more. Stay tuned!

Please note that we will follow the guidelines from local and state health officials. We encourage our guests to wear masks and to distance where possible. Even with vaccine protection, some folks are still getting covid-19. Wear a mask to help protect you, your friends and family, and especially those who can’t get the vaccine due to other complications or issues (like being under 12 years old)
