Olivet Boys & Girls Club Announces In-Person Summer Camp

Olivet Boys & Girls Club is pleased to announce that in-person summer camp will be offered this year at their sites. Throughout the pandemic, the organization has continued to meet the growing and ever-changing needs of the community through emergency grab and go meal distribution and remote learning support. The Olivet team is excited to return to its roots of providing fun, engaging, educational, and safe programming for youth, especially since in-person summer camp was not feasible in 2020 for Olivet and many other youth service providers across the County.

Olivet’s summer camp for youth is scheduled for 10 weeks; from June 14th through August 20th with hours of operation from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Camp fees are $20 per week per child. Sibling discounts are available. Any youth in Berks County ages 6-14 is eligible to sign-up.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily and included in the camp fee. Some of the daily activities will include sports, swimming, arts and crafts, in addition to educational programming such as reading enrichment and STEM. The Center for the Arts Club will also offer its award-winning theater camp for youth ages 9 and up.

Open enrollment for the public begins May 24th, with limited capacity at each club site. For a complete list of club locations and contact information, please visit www.olivetbgc.org or email: [email protected].

“We are excited by the opportunity to be able to offer in-person summer camp for youth this year. Our role as a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for youth is needed now more than ever due to the ongoing challenges for youth and families created by the pandemic. We are expanding and enhancing our model of providing beneficial programming to ensure that we are addressing the holistic needs of youth in our community during this time.” said Chris Winters, President and CEO.
