Notice of Public Hearings by City of Reading Zoning Hearing Board

Notice is hereby given that the City of Reading Zoning Hearing Board will conduct public hearings on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. in the following matters. Due to the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, members of the public cannot attend the meeting in person, but may attend and/or participate via Zoom or by phone.

Appeal #2021-09 – 532, 532R & 534 Minor St. (UPI 02530643876017; 02530643875067; 02530643875092): Daniel S. Caisaguano & Socorro Navarro Aguas (record owners) appeal an enforcement notice issued January 23, 2021 for violation of Appeal #2018-22 relative to a taxicab office and dispatch headquarters at 534 Minor Street; variances are also requested from parking design and construction, landscaping, and maximum impervious coverage requirements in order to expand the existing parking area at 534 Minor Street to include two adjacent parcels, 532 and 532R Minor Street. The subject properties are located in the R-3 Residential District.

Appeal #2021-11 – 35 North 6th St. (UPI# 07530783805608): Berks County Investments, LLC (record owner) seeks a special exception to redevelop an existing building through adaptive reuse by converting the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors to 39 residential apartments and converting the 1st and 2nd floors to a commercial food court. A variance is also requested from the maximum distance requirements for off-site parking. The subject property is located in the Commercial Core (C-C) Zoning District.

Appeal #2021-13 – 1138 Lancaster Ave. (UPI# 18530618320052): John’s Next Generation, LLC (record owner) seeks a special exception to construct an automotive repair/service center at the subject property, located in the Commercial Highway (C-H) Zoning District.
