2nd Friday on the Avenue Celebrates Rebel Hive Anniversary & More

Every 2nd Friday of the month, the West Reading shops and restaurants celebrate with “2nd Friday on the Avenue” hosted by the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation (WRCRF).

2nd Friday on the Avenue is a time to celebrate and recognize our independent shops and locally owned restaurants! Join us Friday, June 11th!

With the warmer weather, we are bringing back music from 6-8pm on 6th Avenue. This month we will be presenting Violet Coup and Noah Gibney in association with the Berks County Quarantine Open Mic (BCQOM). The BCQOM group fostered musicians during the pandemic and grew quickly to over thirteen thousand members on Facebook in Berks and beyond.

  • On Friday, Swerl Designs, 438 Penn Avenue, is offering 5% off any in-stock original Swerl Design, including tables. Call ahead to preview 484.897.6797.
  • Rebel Hive Meadery, 530 Penn Avenue, kicks off their 2nd Anniversary Celebration Friday, June 11th introducing three new flavors, live music from 6-9pm, honey sampling and giveaways.
  • Record Store Day is Saturday, June 12th from 10-6pm. Come find some great deals at Vertigo Music, 449 Penn Avenue.
We are loading more weekend events, music and promotions on our 2nd Friday Facebook event page:

As always, West Reading is 100% committed to serving our community.

Our merchants are following guidelines in line with advice from the CDC, State and Local officials. Our small business owners value your understanding in limiting in store visits and requiring masks to protect their personal safety as well as their family as needed.

We invite the public to share their 2nd Friday adventures on our social media.
