Registration is open for Girls on the Run of Berks’ Camp GOTR Summer Sessions! For the first time, Camp GOTR will be offered as two five-week summer sessions. Each program provides 3rd-5th grade girls a safe place to connect with peers, express creativity, establish healthy physical activity habits, and build confidence.
GIRLS HAVE POWER! will run July 8-August 5 on Thursdays, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM at the YMCA Richmond Program Center (14432 Kutztown Road in Fleetwood). Girls will learn about their power to recognize emotions in themselves and others as well as how to express their feelings through fun, interactive games such as “Emotion Detective”.
GIRLS HAVE HEART! will run July 10-August 7 on Saturdays, 9:00 AM to Noon at the Wyomissing Quarry Soccer Fields (Lancaster Avenue entrance). Girls will explore friendships, learn what makes a good friend and learn how to be a good friend. Additionally, these girls will participate in the Women2Women Youth Summer Reading Program, receiving a copy of this year’s book Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: The Lemonade Escapade and the opportunity to meet the author at a special event later in August.
“Camp GOTR combines the best of our traditional program with all the fun of camp,” explains Program Director Tania Hollos. “It gives girls an outlet to stay physically active, to express their creativity and to build friendships. Plus, the addition of the summer reading program to GIRLS HAVE HEART! emphasizes the need to exercise your mind as well as your body.”
The registration fee is $125.00 per girl for each session and includes a Camp GOTR t-shirt, cinch sack and program supplies. Registration is first-come, first-serve. Spaces are limited so register now at GOTR Berks Camp GOTR 2021 Registration.
