On Saturday, July 31, Soundview PPV presents ‘Guns Down, Gloves Up,’ a youth boxing event and part of the Stop The Violence Movement. The event is billed as ‘Reading All-Stars vs. The World, to be held at 50 N. 4th Street in Reading, the card starts at 3PM. Ticket information and more is available on the Facebook Event page. Boxers will represent gyms across the city.
Event organizer James ‘DJ Check for Me’ Bartley explained, “This event is a showcase of all of the talented young kids in our community who choose to take up the sport of boxing instead of turning to the streets. I’m very proud of the coaches and gyms for their dedication to helping our youth. This event was organized so we could allow the parents and community to attend a USA boxing event here in the city. We understand that financially it is tough for them to attend these events being that most events are in Texas or Louisiana. So on the 31st we will celebrate our youth for all their hard work.”
