East Penn Adds Berks Encore Care+ To Employee Benefits Program

Berks Encore is proud to announce that Berks County’s largest employer, East Penn Manufacturing, has added Berks Encore Care+ to their Berks County benefits program.

As a result of the pandemic, more families and older adults are making the decision to continue to age at home. Family caregivers often shoulder enormous emotional and financial burdens, as well as increased demands on their time. This can cause a conflict with workplace responsibilities. By working with a Berks Encore Care+ professional, a personalized care plan will be developed to provide a roadmap to navigate the aging network and connect them with resources available in the community. The expertise of an aging life care manager can help to reduce stress, worry and time off work for family caregivers.

Bob Harrop, Vice President of Personnel at East Penn explained, “The addition of Berks Encore Care+ for our benefits program supports the core beliefs of this company. We are a family of employees and support each other. The assistance we can offer through Berks Encore Care+ can help our family caregivers when they need help during challenging times.”

East Penn will provide a complimentary comprehensive assessment and personalized care plan for each employee. The personalized plan will provide actions the family can implement on their own or they can choose to contract with Berks Encore Care+ for additional services where fees are determined by a sliding scale based on the senior’s income.

“Berks Encore is tremendously grateful for the generous support that East Penn has provided to us for many years,” said LuAnn Oatman, Berks Encore President/CEO. “We are honored that East Penn has entrusted us with this opportunity to provide assistance to employees and their older family members who may need help managing changing circumstances or complex problems.”

Berks Encore Care+ is an in-home assessment based program that results in a personalized care plan to connect older adults and their caregivers to valuable community resources with the goal of helping them age safely at home.
