The first step to take your idea from concept to business is figuring out if you have identified a problem worth solving. This free class will help you:
- learn more about the problem you are trying to solve for your customer
- determine where your potential customers hang out
- identify the value of your product compared to what’s on the market.
Participants will learn how to develop a business model, validate their business model through a scientific process, get feedback from and work one-on-one with experienced entrepreneurs who serve as mentors.
Competitive accelerator for early-stage, scalable, business ideas in PA – apply by 9/3 for a free spot. Access up to $3000 in micro-grant funding if your project is STEM related. Four learning sessions, a pitch practice night, and a final pitch night held: Wednesdays: Sept 29-Nov 3: 6-8 p.m. plus 10 hours of outside work per week moving your startup forward.

Introduction to Grant Writing
Get started finding and writing grants to fund your passion project!
Join Matthew Serio, former Director of Creative Opportunities for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, as he hosts an introductory grant workshop where he will discuss grant writing basics to get you started in funding your passion project. During the workshop, you will receive an insightful look into methods for successfully developing new avenues for your goals.
Workshop topics that will be covered include an overview of grant writing, finding opportunities, the application process, understanding proposals, what to do when your grant is accepted or rejected, grant writing mistakes, and a question & answer session. This workshop is targeted to small businesses, start-ups, entrepreneurs, artists, makers, for-profits, and non-profits alike.
