- Humane League of Lancaster County – 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602 (Open 10 am – 4pm, adoption hours are 11 am – 3pm)
- The Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving – 1801 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604 (Open 10 am – 5pm, adoption hours are 10 am – 4pm)
“NBC10 and Telemundo62 are proud to host the Clear the Shelters campaign for a seventh consecutive year and partner with more than 35 local shelters and rescues,” said Ric Harris, president, and general manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62. “Our popular pet adoption initiative has helped find new homes for more than 25,000 pets in the Greater Philadelphia region.”
ARL adopters are encouraged to arrive early as adoption wait times are expected. All available adoptables will be listed on www.berksarl.org. The site is updated every 12 minutes to reflect the most up-to-date “inventory” of who’s available to adopt. Browse it ahead of your visit and selecting a few animals you may want to meet. All pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
The adoptions will be by application and with the guidance of an adoption counselor to help ensure adopters and their families find the perfect pet. If adopting a dog and currently have other dogs at home, we encourage meet and greets to ensure the dogs will get along well.
Under PA law, a $7 dog license fee applies at the time of adoption. This fee is not covered by sponsored adoption. For more information, interested adopters can write to adoptions@berksarl.org.
The Humane League of Lancaster County and The Freedom Center for Animal Life-Saving will be waiving fees for ALL cats, critters, and dogs, with the hopes that all animals in our shelters will be able to find their forever homes. Anyone interested in adopting an animal from Humane Pennsylvania should complete an adoption interest form and view all currently available adoptables at https://humanepa.org/adoption/.
