Safe Berks Wins Seven National Purple Ribbon Awards

Safe Berks is proud to announce that we received seven national Purple Ribbon Awards! The Purple Ribbon Awards are coordinated by Theresa’s Fund, DomesticShelters.org, and experts in the field to honor and recognize the many heroes working to serve survivors and end domestic violence.

The Purple Ribbon Awards we received:

Lifetime Achievement Award: The Honorable Linda Ludgate, one of the 12 founders of Safe Berks, formerly Berks Women in Crisis

Best COVID-19 Response Plan: Safe Berks

Program/Shelter Executive of the Year: Mereliss Colon Ortiz, Safe Berks COO

Program/Shelter of the Year: Aleida Rodriguez, Safe Berks Director of Residential Services, and Safe House Staff

Outstanding Youth Initiative of the Year: Arianna Sanchez, Safe Berks Children’s Advocate

Business Partner of the Year: Mi Casa Su Casa

Community Service Organization of the Year: Blankets of Hope

Congrats to these amazing award winners and to all the heroes who work hard each day to serve survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault! Together we can build a Safe Berks!
