Do you have a junior engineer who loves to design and draw? The Reading Railroad Heritage Museum is offering a hands-on engineering experience for children in first through sixth grade. The Full Steam Ahead event is a 2-hour hands-on experience that will share what it was like to design the structures and tracks for the Reading Railroad. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on October 2nd, October 9th, and October 16th.
This will be a fun-filled experience for both you and your children. During the event your child will learn from an experienced teacher; review and learn about past drafts and drawings from those who designed the structures and rails of the Reading Railroad; board one of our passenger cars with your child to enjoy an age-appropriate book of your choice about engineering; learn why the caboose is no longer needed; and at the end, your child will take everything they learned and make their own “blueprint.”
This event is being held at the Reading Railroad Heritage Museum, 500 South 3rd Street in Hamburg. The price ranges from $15 to $25, depending on the number of children. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
This is bound to be a fun event! Register online at readingrailroad.org.
