Reading Public Library will hold an Open House today, Wednesday, October 13 from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Southeast Branch, 1426 Perkiomen Avenue.  The event will celebrate the opening of the Jerome I. Marcus Meeting Commons, a high tech private meeting room that will accommodate up to eight people.   The room is outfitted with commercial grade technology including ultra high definition TV and BYOD (bring your own device) smart connectivity.  A sound masking system creates a private space suitable for work, school, or social service use.

Linda Klein Capozello. Director of Advancement and Communications stated, “This exciting new room is an extension of the Learning and Meeting Commons Project funded through a gift from Dr. Jerry Marcus.  Dr. Marcus provided the vision and financial support.  Members of the design and construction team, led by volunteer and Board member Mike Micozzi of Burkey Construction, followed with donated and reduced-fee services.”

According to Branch Manager, Emily McNulty, “This room will provide our neighbors with vital space equipped to meet the needs of a society more and more connected through virtual communication.”

The public is invited to join the open house celebration.
