Over the next week, the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) network will be hosting a dozen virtual events and educational programs as part of their participation in Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), an initiative to help entrepreneurs reach their business goals, scheduled for November 8-12, 2021.

Across Pennsylvania, SBDCs will host virtual events for entrepreneurs and small business owners aimed at making it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business including topics such as: what it takes to start a business, talking to customers, maximizing your brand, international e-commerce, record keeping for business taxes, international business, exporting and importing products and more. The four global themes of GEW 2021 will focus on ecosystems, education, inclusion and policy. Registration and more details on these no-cost virtual educational programs can be found by visiting www.pasbdc.org/events.

The Pennsylvania SBDC is the only statewide nationally accredited network with 16 locations that is a direct channel of services to help aspiring entrepreneurs in all 67 counties of the commonwealth unlock their potential and turn their dreams into thriving businesses. The SBDC offers no-cost in person consultations upon request or virtual assistance.

The SBDC network has been helping entrepreneurs in all communities with a long-term commitment to improve access to resources and assistance to underserved entrepreneurs (multicultural, veterans, rural) and minority small business communities.

“Entrepreneurial enthusiasm is on the rise. Americans filed paperwork to start 4.3 million businesses last year, according to data from the Census Bureau, with applications on a pace to be even higher this year. The SBDCs celebrate passionate innovators that bring ideas to life by assisting aspiring nascent entrepreneurs to position themselves for economic prosperity.,” said Francene Dudziec, PASBDC Director of Marketing and Communication.

In 2020, PASBDC assisted with 703 new Pennsylvania business starts and served over 13,000 total number of clients. SBDCs help their clients start a new business every 26 minutes and create a new job every six minutes.

GEW is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. This year, GEW will hold more than 40,000 events in more than 180 countries around the world.

The Pennsylvania SBDC network is proud to participate in GEW 2021 to promote business start-up growth and entrepreneurship in Pennsylvania. To follow the GEW conversation on twitter, follow @gewusa and @pasmallbusiness and use #GEW.
