YMCA Welcomes Military Members Home with Free Memberships

The YMCA of Reading and Berks County is welcoming military members home for the holidays with a very special gift: the gift of a healthy mind, body, and spirit.

On Monday, November 29, the Y unveiled their new Active-Duty Membership Plan, which provides up to ten weeks of free membership for all active-duty service members to be used during periods of leave.

While this new perk will be launched just in time for the holiday season, it can be utilized year-round. The membership may be used for up to two weeks at a time and may be redeemed up to five times per year.

“We are honored to announce this opportunity to active-duty men and women in our communities, so they stay well in mind, body and spirit while they are home for the holidays,” said Alyssa Bushkie, Director of Operations for the YMCA of Reading and Berks County, “providing this perk is our way of giving back to those who dedicate themselves to serving our country.”

The offer may be redeemed at any of the YMCA of Reading and Berks County’s five locations by presenting their military ID at their Welcome Center. During their stay, military members will have access to all the same amenities and services enjoyed by YMCA members, including all fitness facilities, group exercise courses, and Y Wellness 24/7 online classes.

For more information about the active-duty membership, visit the YMCA of Reading and Berks County’s website at www.ymcarbc.org/military-memberships.
