Librarian and Local Author Debuts Book of Poetry, ‘While I Was Watching The Sun’

On December 4th, 2021, Reading, Pennsylvania based librarian, Sharice Towles will celebrate the release of her debut book of poetry, While I Was Watching The Sun with a book launch event and live reading hosted by the Reading Public Library. The event will take place from 1PM until 4PM at the main branch of the library, located at 100 S 5th St.

While I Was Watching The Sun is Towles’ first book and is being published by independent publisher, SDJ Press. The collection features twenty-three original poems about life, love and rebirth. In the spirit of local collaboration, the book’s cover design and interior graphics were created by Kutztown University student and Reading Senior High School alumna, Idalmi Rivera.

During the book launch event Towles will be signing copies of While I Was Watching The Sun, reading poetry from the collection, and taking part in a Q&A session. Light refreshments will be served.
