Berks County Business Leader Elected to Head Statewide Association

Catherine Sloan, of Temple, PA, has been elected as the 72nd President of the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA). Ms. Sloan will head up the statewide non-profit association of nearly 4,000 members on January 1. PBA is the voice of the home building industry in Pennsylvania.

Sloan, who has been a member of the PBA Board of Directors since 2013, served as the association’s Vice President as well as Secretary. During her time with PBA, she has been very involved in areas including membership and communications as well the Professional Women in Building Council.

In her role as PBA President, Sloan will serve on PBA’s Board of Directors and will be responsible for overseeing the association’s activities on both state and national levels. She will also serve as the liaison to all coalitions and task forces on which PBA is a member.

Sloan is a member and Executive Officer of the Home Builders Association of Berks County, where she has served as President along on several committees including the home show and membership. She is also the Office Manager for the Temple-based Aluminum Associates. Her involvement on the national level in conjunction with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) includes serving as a Board member since 2008, on the membership committee, and on the Professional Women in Building Board of Trustees among others.

Additionally, Sloan holds professional designations including Certified Green Builder (CGB), Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), and Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR).

For her work and contributions, Ms. Sloan has been awarded the NAHB Outstanding Service Award for Mentoring Program, NAHB Professional Women in Building Outstanding Service Award, the HBA Association Leadership of the Year Award, and in 2020, she was recognized by the Muhlenberg School Hall of Fame.

Sloan will be formally installed during the Annual Gala at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in Reading in February as part of PBA Winter Board Meeting.
