Local REALTORS® Association Installs 2022 Board, Presents Annual Awards

Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® (R-BAR) recently held their 2022 Annual Installation and Awards Ceremony, inducting its 2022 Board of Directors and presenting four Association awards. Honorary guests included Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS® (PAR) 2021 President Chris Raad, PAR 2018 President Todd Umbenhauer, and PAR District 4 Vice President Alexa Sanchez.

2021 President Raad had the honor of installing the 2022 R-BAR Board of Directors: President Jason Burkholder of Weichart, Realtors- Welcome Home; Past President Erica Ramus of Ramus Realty Group; President-elect Merlin Weaver of Compass Real Estate; Treasurer Marisol Torres of United Real Estate Strive 212; and Directors Antonio Borelli of Century 21 Gold; Mark Chaknos of Keller Williams Platinum; Gregory Guydish of Casper Ward; Jenniffer Jimenez of United Real Estate 212; Brandon Lesagonicz of Weichert, Realtors Neighborhood One; CJ Levan of United Real Estate 212; Tyler Miller of Keller Williams Platinum; Scott Troxel of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty; and Victoria Venezia of RE/MAX of Reading.

As R-BAR celebrates its 100th year of service, Burkholder began his presidency by providing the 1,000 plus membership of REALTORS® and real estate affiliated business with his 2022 vision of moving forward with intention. He began his inaugural remarks by revisiting R-BAR’s beginning and celebrating the importance of the Association’s past. He expressed his thanks to Immediate Past President Erica Ramus for her leadership, guidance, and vast knowledge of the industry.

Looking to 2022, Burkholder’s vision is to celebrate the century of service R-BAR has provided to Berks County and surrounding areas, with an eye to, “…move forward intentionally,” so as to, “…plan for a better tomorrow.”

In addition to installing the 2022 Board of Directors, the event also recognized and honored the following 2021 R-BAR award winners for their contributions to the Association, the profession and the community:

REALTOR® of the Year was awarded to Antonio Borelli of Century 21 Gold for exemplifying what being a REALTOR® truly means. Award winners are recognized for their REALTOR® spirit, business accomplishments, commitment to the industry, involvement in R-BAR, and their participation in civic and community affairs.

Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Angela Tolosky of Weichert, Realtors Neighborhood One for her volunteerism and service to the R-BAR membership and community. Award winners go above and beyond to volunteer their time and talents to the Association and the community.

Grow With Berks Award was given to Stephen Gieringer, CEO of Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks. This award recognizes someone in the community who makes a significant impact in Berks County.

Municipal Official of the Year was awarded to Christopher Spohn, Hamburg Area School District, as it recognizes an elected or appointed municipal official in Berks County who is a strong advocate for both the real estate community and the citizens of Berks County.
