Berks Heim Nursing and Rehabilitation invites job seekers to discover the medical and non-medical career opportunities available at the County-owned skilled nursing facility during a Career Fair on Wednesday, March 16. The Career Fair will be hosted at Berks Heim’s facility at 1011 Berks Road, Leesport from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and feature the opportunity to interview while on site.

“At Berks Heim, we follow an individualized approach to healthcare, so our staff plays a critical role in providing quality care for the social, emotional and physical well-being of our residents,” Administrator Christie Kennedy said. “We are proud of our strong tradition of caring and are eager to add to our dedicated team of caregivers.”

Berks Heim is currently hiring for a wide range of full and part-time nursing positions, from supervisory roles to entry-level nursing aides, with competitive starting salaries, sign-on bonuses and the County of Berks’ extensive benefit package. Nursing Supervisor positions come with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. RN positions start at a salary of $35.33/hr with a sign-on bonus of $5,000 and LPN positions start at $26.37/hr with a sign-on bonus of $4,000.

Berks Heim also has openings for fully-certified nursing aides, starting at $18.05 an hour and up to a $3,500 sign-on bonus for full-time and $2,000 sign-on bonus for part-time. Those interested in pursuing nursing can come on board as nursing aides and receive their certification during a 4-week training program. Once they become certified, they can be hired full-time with the bonus.

Berks Heim also has several non-medical positions available, including laundry operator, maintenance worker and janitor. There are several positions for dietary cooks and dietary aides, including a $1,000 sign-on bonus for dietary staff hired to work the 12-8 p.m. shift.
