In response to the recent violence in our community, Olivet Boys & Girls Club will host “Teen Takeover” events, along with partnering organizations like Berks Community Action Program (BCAP). The goal of every Teen Takeover is to provide a safe space for teens to gather, along with providing meals and community resources.
Teen Takeovers will take place every weekend at an Olivet Boys & Girls Club location. The first event will take place, this Saturday, March 19th, and Sunday March 20th from 11am to 4pm at our Mulberry Street Club. The address is 722 Mulberry Street, Reading, PA.
Olivet Boys & Girls Club CEO & President, Chris Winters, said,” There is no easy answer to stop the violence in our community. We must be willing to listen to our youth, place ourselves at their level and engage in meaningful conversations, not to dictate but instead learn and listen.
