Senior Albright College Administrator Named a Lehigh Women of Influence

Selected for professional achievement, community involvement and inspiring change, Samantha J. Wesner, DNP, CRNP, WHNP-BC, senior vice president of student and campus life and chief health officer at Albright College, has been named a 2022 Women of Influence by Lehigh Valley Business. An awards celebration will be held at DeSales University, May 4, 5:30 p.m.

“This year’s Women of Influence are inspirational. They are leading the way for other women, with a strong commitment to mentoring. They are leaders in their fields and are actively engaged in the community,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of Lehigh Valley Business.

Over more than 23 years at Albright College, Samantha Wesner has found her passion for creating and bringing new wellness initiatives to the college. Her knack for creative problem solving has led to many new initiatives at the college, including offering women’s healthcare to the Albright College community, the development of community partnerships and the successful acquisition of grants to address high-risk drinking behaviors, Title IX related behaviors and childhood obesity. Chairing the college’s Pandemic Planning Task Force has been another successful endeavor for her. She has worked with constituencies across campus to keep our community healthy and safe, this included bringing five COVID-19 vaccine clinics to campus.

“Receiving the Women of Influence award is a great honor for me and I am fortunate to be named among my esteemed colleagues,” said Wesner. “Working with a college community has provided me with many wonderful opportunities to mentor young adults and to positively impact the Albright community and our community at large.”

Wesner earned a diploma in nursing from Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing; an associate degree of science from Franklin and Marshall College; an obstetric and gynecologic nurse practitioner certificate from Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc., Family Planning Council, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing; a bachelor of science in nursing from Eastern University; a master of science in nursing from Drexel University; and a doctor of nursing practice from West Chester University. In 2008, she was a recipient of the Albright College Pride Award. Samantha is a member of the Richard J. Caron Foundation’s Greater PA Regional Advisory Board.

Women of Influence award winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the May 9 issue of Lehigh Valley Business and will be available online at LVB.com.
