March to the Stop of Violence

by One Love Project

Mar 24, 2022

One Love Project is hosting a movement, call “March to the Stop of Violence.” Throughout Berks County, especially in our own Reading community, there has been a lot of violent acts reoccurring, such as shootings and sexual assault. The march will be taking place this Sunday, March 27th, 2022, starting promptly at 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Everyone will be asked to meet at the bandshell in City Park, which is located near the 11th and Washington Street intersection in Reading, PA 19604.

One Love Project wants to emphasize that this will be a peaceful march to bring awareness to the issues in the hope that things will start to be taken more seriously in our community. After walking the community from City Park, the night will finish back at the bandshell with a vigil in remembrance of the loved ones lost recently from these tragic acts. The ending prayer will be delivered by Pastor Mary Wolfe from Hope Lutheran Church who holds weekly church services open to the public, located at 601 N. Front Street, Reading, PA 19601. Bring signs for the march and all candles for the vigil will be provided. If you have any questions whatsoever in regard to this event or looking to get involved with other work we do, you can email [email protected] and they would be more than thrilled to have you join with them.

One Love Project stands true to the promises within its mission statement to promote and aid the well-being of those who identify with the LGBTQIA+ community and those outside the community as well within the Reading-based community and beyond. Here at One Love Project, collaborative initiatives are key and necessary to help those in need and provide resources to those during trying times.
