Two New Rebels Signed to Reading Roster Ahead of April Events

All-star weekend showed no slow down for the Reading Rebels, as they added two new players to the 2022 team ahead of upcoming games and two new #ForTheCity events at the end of April.

First, the Rebels announced the signing of former Maryland high school sensation and human highlight reel Aquille Carr. Aquille was named the ESPN High School Player of the Week in 2011 and was drafted to the NBA D-League by the Delaware 87ers in 2013. Next, the Rebels dug deeper into the local talent pool, signing former Berks Catholic standout Keba Mitchell. Keba displays impressive accolades from DeSales University, including the 2021 MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year. On Friday, April 22, at 8 PM, the Rebels will host the Albany Patroons at the Geigle Complex (801 North 13th Street, Reading, PA, 19604) for KIDS NIGHT. Kids 12 and under will get free admission at the door with an accompanying adult. The team hopes to avenge its recent loss to Albany. After a road game on Saturday vs the Tri-State Admirals the Rebels will return to Reading on Sunday, April 24, at 6 PM, for a Daddy-Daughter Clinic. Berks Catholic High School (955 E Wyomissing Blvd, Reading, PA 19611) is the event host.  The Rebels players and coaches will lead the community through 90 minutes of drills, skills, and games for all. On Monday April 25, the Rebels players will visit 16th and Haak Elementary School to speak and entertain the students prior to their PSSA testing.

Catch the Rebels on Wednesday, April 27, from 6-8 PM, at 3rd and Spruce Draft Haus (238 S 3rd Ave, West Reading, PA, 19611) for a Meet and Greet. Have a bite with the team, get some merchandise signed, and pick the mind of some pro athletes. The First 10 people to arrive will get a free ticket to the Rebels game vs Tri-State Admirals on April 29!

On Friday, April 29, the Reading Rebels will host the Tri-State Admirals at 8 PM at the Geigle Complex for DATE NIGHT. Tri-State beat the Rebels earlier this season, so the Rebels seek a home win to match. Closing out April, the Rebels will participate in Gogglework’s Iron Pour event on Saturday, April 30. The Rebels will participate in Forge Fest, so plan to arrive early to catch the team, and see how ART and SPORT come together!
