Before we know it, summer will be here bringing high temperatures and humidity. The Berks County Area Agency on Aging is proud to announce the opportunity for older adults who reside in Berks County to receive a free portable air conditioner.
‘Cooling Program’ Eligibility Guidelines:
- Must be age 60 or older•Reside in Berks County
- Income not to exceed $2,000/month for individual or $4,000/month for married individuals
- Have heart-related or breathing related issues (i.e., COPD, Bronchitis, Emphysema)
- Provide physician’s note reflecting the accepted related diagnosis/condition
- Complete application – available at our website at www.berksaging.org
Contact the Berks County Area Agency on Aging at 610-478-6500 for an application. The deadline to apply for this program is June 17.
Upon review and approval of the required documents, individuals will be contacted by the Area Agency on Aging to schedule an appointment to pick up the air-conditioner.
