Habitat Berks Chosen by Local Keller Williams Office for RED Day

Habitat for Humanity of Berks County is proud to be a part of the Keller Williams RED day on May 12!

Established in 2009, RED day is an acronym for Renew, Energize, Donate.  The day is a world-wide event for Keller Williams employees. Susan McFadden, Operating Principal of Keller Williams Platinum in Wyomssing serves on the Birdhouse Challenge Committee for Habitat Berks and decided to take her company’s involvement a step further.

“I really enjoy working with Habitat Berks,” said McFadden. “Their mission is important to the work realtors do, so it’s a great fit.”

The Keller Williams team will paint the entire duplex that Habitat Berks has built in partnership with Neighborhood Housing Services in Maidencreek Township.

“We can’t always bring a group this large onto the job site,” explained Habitat Berks Executive Director, Tim Daley. “But RED day coincides perfectly with the need to get these homes painted. With thirty volunteers, the group will have the painting done quickly.”

The homes will be ready for their new homeowners in the coming weeks.

About Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of Berks County (Habitat) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that believes all people deserve a decent life and the power to build their own futures. Habitat exists to create affordable home ownership opportunities for moderate income families. Families who purchase Habitat for Humanity homes must contribute 200 hours of sweat equity. Habitat relies on volunteers and families contributing sweat equity for the unskilled labor needed to build the homes. Working in this way, they believe they provide families a hand up rather than a hand out, while also providing a way for people to assist hard-working families in our community. About Keller Williams RED Day

Since May of 2009 our entire company – from the U.S. and Canada to our family abroad – sets aside the second Thursday of the month to Renew, Energize, and Donate within the communities we serve.

At the heart of Keller Williams’ culture is our shared commitment to community service. The immeasurable generosity of our team enables us to care for our own as well as our neighbors no matter the magnitude of what is needed.

We’ve poured into our communities in a number of ways, initiating service projects like building new homes from the ground up, gathering and distributing food to those who need it, organizing relief efforts when a natural disaster hits, and even spreading joy and raising funds as only KW can when life takes an unexpected turn. These are just a few of the community activities we’ve carried out in support of those who have poured into us. https://headquarters.kw.com/red-day/
