RSO Partners with Reading Choral Society to Perform Verdi’s Requiem

The Reading Choral Society and a quartet of powerhouse soloists have teamed up with the Reading Symphony Orchestra for the final concert of the RSO’s 2021-2022 season on May 21, 2022 at the Santander Performing Arts Center.

Don’t miss a special performance of Verdi’s Requiem by the Reading Symphony Orchestra and the Reading Choral Society on 7:30pm at the Santander Performing Arts Center on May 21st. The partnership between these organizations will be the performance of the spring.

Verdi’s Requiem is known for its operatic style, mixing intense drama with spirituality and grandiosity. “It is a privilege to have the Reading Choral Society and our extraordinary soloists share the stage with the Reading Symphony Orchestra” shares David Gross, Executive Director of the Reading Symphony Orchestra, “We believe it will be a powerful and moving performance.”

The Reading Choral Society is one of America’s oldest musical ensembles, founded in 1875. The soloists all have major operatic and oratorio careers including Othalie Graham, soprano, Audrey Babcock, mezzo-soprano, Dominick Chenes, tenor, and Joshua Jeremiah, bass.

Conducted by Reading Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director, Andrew Constantine the May 21, 2022, performance will feature Requiem and Kyrie, Dies irae, Offertorium, Sanctus, Agnus Dei, Lux aeterna, and Libera me.
