Call for Artists: Perform in the Arboretum with the Reading Theater Project

The Reading Theater Project invites actors, playwrights, poets, dancers, and musicians to submit original performance pieces and ideas for In Nature’s Studio, Reading Theater Project’s summer production in the Reading Public Museum Arboretum. Submissions are due June 6, 2022. Details and the submission form can be found online at https://readingtheaterproject.org/in-natures-studio-2022/

In Nature’s Studio invites performers to create new work for the purpose of sharing it outdoors, in the park. The benches along the path become microstages as performers delight the audience, who walk the path along the creek.

Building off of last summer’s success, there will be two performance dates, and each will connect to one of the indoor exhibits at the Museum: Sunday, July 10 – Real Bodies; Sunday, August 21 – Picturing the Occult. Performers may submit to one or both dates, and all work should be appropriate for all audiences.

All performers will receive a stipend for their work.

The Reading Theater Project is a locally-focused, professional theater company, based in Greater Reading/Berks County, PA. We value collaboration and creative challenges and believe theater is an inclusive experience that can reveal our shared human condition.
