Local Author Celebrates Completion of Trilogy

Jun 08, 2022

Local author L. Ryan Storms debuted her first book, A Thousand Years to Wait, in April 2019. The book was a success, placing first in Young Adult Fiction, second in Cover Design, and gaining honorable mention for New Fiction Author in the 2021 Royal Dragonfly Book Awards. Additionally, the novel earned an award-winning finalist spot in American Book Fest’s 2019 Best Book Awards, and gained Storms readers worldwide.

“If you told me three years ago that I’d have readers in Canada, Italy, Germany, France, the UK, Australia, and beyond, I never would have believed you,” Storms said. There’s no arguing with the data, though, and Storms is delighted her stories have spread so far.

The second book in the series, The Heart of Death, was released in October 2020 as a global pandemic raged around the world. Between family obligations and world news, Storms opted for a lower profile release, issuing the second book with little fanfare. Now, Storms has finished the trilogy and is set to release the third and final book entitled Chaos Bound on June 14, 2022.

Of Chaos Bound, Mariely Lares, author of the upcoming adult fantasy Sun of Blood and Ruin (Harper Voyager, 2023), said Storms “has crafted a deliciously addictive world of magic and mayhem that you’ll want to get hooked on,” adding that the book is “an ending worth waiting for.”

Storms graduated from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Marine Science and from Marist College with a Master’s in Business Administration, but says that writing has always been her passion. When asked what’s next for her career now that the trilogy is complete, she replied, “I expect to release a new young adult fantasy in 2023, but I’m also working on a contemporary project with aspects of magical realism, and that’s been a lot of fun. Basically, I write whatever I just can’t shake from my brain.”

L. Ryan Storms is scheduled to read an excerpt from Chaos Bound at the Antietam Farmers’ Market on Monday, June 20th. The event takes place between 5 and 7 p.m. All three of her books will be available for purchase and signing. Storms will also appear as part of a multi-author signing event at Cupboard Maker Books in Enola, PA on June 25th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Chaos Bound is available for pre-order in both ebook and paperback format through all major retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Book Depository, iBooks, and Kobo. For more information on L.
