Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing to Host Amputee Golf Outing

Event Open to all Able- and Disable-bodied Persons

Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing will hold its 9th Annual Amputee Golf Outing, sponsored by The Amputee Support Group, on Tuesday, June 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sittler’s at Sinking Spring, located at 497 Mountain Home Road, Sinking Spring.

This outing is open to all able- and disable-bodied persons and will be led by Bob Buck, Executive Director of the Eastern Amputee Golf Association in Bethlehem, PA. Both experienced and inexperienced golfers are welcome. Instructors will include Robert Buck; Adam Benza, PGA, Eastern Amputee Golf Association; and Rick Kline, PGA, Sittler Golf Center.

Mr. Buck and Adam Benza will demonstrate adaptive golf equipment before leading golfers onto the course to practice hitting balls.

Remaining active is important to recovery from amputation and supports both physical and emotional well-being. The amputee golf outing provides camaraderie in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment for individuals to try a new sport and is designed to help participants realize they can still be active despite their disability.

The program is free for participants with disabilities and their families. Registration is recommended. To register or for more information, call 484-628-2597.
