Leadership Berks Seeking Nonprofit Service Project Proposals

United Way of Berks County’s Leadership Berks program works with businesses, nonprofits and individuals to strengthen our community. Participants in the annual program build community leadership skills and gain knowledge about Berks County’s assets and challenges, as well as participate in a service project as a key learning experience. Program graduates are ultimately prepared to serve in a nonprofit leadership role.

Leadership Berks is seeking project proposals from Berks County’s non-profit organizations for consideration as a Service Project for the 2022-23 Leadership Berks class.

All class members are required to participate in a service learning project, which are designed to be a primary learning experience for the participants and a meaningful benefit to the non-profit. Projects completed by the recent class included brand awareness, creating a volunteer toolkit, and researching and developing implementation strategies for local community initiatives.

Project proposals should be designed with the understanding that the Leadership Berks class is comprised of talented and professionally qualified individuals with different skills and experiences who will work together to assist local organizations to create solutions for current needs. Proposals are required to include a project outline, timeline, goals/objectives, a description of the positive community impact is to be achieved and related detail. Leadership Berks participants are not allowed to engage in fundraising activities as part of the project.

To learn more about Leadership Berks and service project proposals, and to receive a proposal application, contact Jean Morrow at [email protected] or 610-685-4587. The deadline for all proposals is Friday, August 12, 2022.
