Berks County Heritage Center to host Music & Games Program

Bring out the kids for an educational and fun day amongst the historic buildings of the Berks County Heritage Center during our Schoolyard Games and Music program on Saturday, July 23. Special guest Ray Owen, a GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter and national recording artist, will perform during the free event.

Try out old-fashioned schoolyard games, listen to Owens’ music, explore the Gruber Wagon Works, check out the Canal Center and then grab a snack at our snack bar in the barn or stroll next to the Tulpehocken Creek on the Union Canal Towpath Trail. Tours of the Gruber Wagon Works are held each hour, with the last tour starting at 3 p.m., while tours of the Canal Center are self-guided. Visit our website for tour ticket prices.

10 am to 4pm | Join the Friends of the Epler’s One Room School House to discover and try hands-on games commonly enjoyed by students of the past. Activities are free and open to the public.

11 am and 12:30 pm | Enjoy free family-friendly, musical performances by Ray Owen at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Themed around Farm Heritage, Owen will perform a tuneful tribute to the American farmer celebrating farm life, the good earth and old-fashioned country living – a true harvest of the heart, embracing a bountiful blend of songs, stories and family fun.
